Default why two?

On the prop driver of mvvs 1.6 gas there are two magnets, I suppose that each time one of them passes under the sensor the plug will spark, two spark every round. but the engine need only one............

Paolo,

One is North and the other is South.

The system is set in a way that when one passes it enhances the charging of the system, to provide a stronger spark when the other passes.

As you know, one polarity makes electrons flow in one direction while the other polarity, in the other direction, so the system is set not to spark, when the electron flow is in the 'wrong' direction.

The second magnet also lets the ignition software know when the engine passes bottom dead centre for speed and ignition timing calculations. This system is much more riliable than the one using a single magnet.
