Canister help!
#1
Hello. I am trying to do home work for the new QQ Yak 86". I want to run an Evoloution 45 with canister. The airframe tunnel (I was told ) is 2 1/4". The pipe diameter is 2 3/8". The recommended setup fo rthis airplane is the MTW canister. Is the EVO pipe supposed to fit anywhere the MTW will go? Also a zero drop header is needed. Are these parts semi interchangeable between a DA 50. If they are off, it cant be very far. Just wondering if there is some standardization. Thanks for your trouble.

Adam,
First, there is no standardization between engine manufacturers.
The DA exhaust will not fit the MVVS 58/45 engine, or vice-versa.
The MVVS 45 cc previously used the 58 cc exhaust system and still can.
It is by pure chance that two different manufacturers select to use identical flange measurements.
The MVVS .61/.77/.91 exhausts will all fit the OS.61FSR (and its clones) and the Webra .61 Speed and vice-versa, for example.
No such luck with the MVVS 45 cc (or its Evolution counterpart), however.
I am sure you will find, or could fabricate something that will fit.

Link shows an MVVS running with a Brisson Pitts silencer and then an MTW 75, increase of 1150rpm with no other mods. Hopefully this will not get deleted before you have a chanse to look at it.

BaldEagle,
The MTW canister does sound significantly more powerful.
Only people appointed by RCU (specific MVVS dealers) are allowed to reply here, but others joining the original question may also ask within the thread.
The manufacturer's support forum is not for general discussion.
