Default Header length for MVVS 45

Installing a swan neck header and canister setup, need to know the header length for a MVVS 45. What is optimal and what is acceptable?

Greg,

MVVS make four different steel headers that fit the 45 cc (actually 43) engine.

The #3202P and #3202B are up-tilt and down-tilt versions that connect through an MVVS Teflon™ adapter to the #3204 and the #3206 canister mufflers. The #3202I, if still available, connects to aftermarket canisters and the #3205 is designed specifically for the 45 cc engine (connects to the #3206).

See photo.

[link=http://www.krumscheid-metallwaren.de/neu/shop.php?lang=EN]Krumscheid[/link] make alternative headers too, but why would you need them when the original MVVS items are so attractively priced?

The length of the header for a canister muffler is not critical.

Greg,
The swan neck combined with the MTW muffler should be as short as you can make it. The coupler must be as close to the last bend as possible. Then the length will be optimal for best power between 5000 and 7000 rpm.

@ Dar:
Greg already has the MTW muffler and swan neck.

Well I have been playing with the canister setup on the MVVS recently, just love the increase in power!!! Stump puller from just off idle all the way through. However I have noticed a pesky problem that I am trying to figure out, when flying vertical or inverted for a bit, when I resume level upright flight the throttle seems to jump up and she runs harder all of a sudden for several seconds. You can fly patterns around the field inverted and she doesnt appear to load up, however roll upright and in about 5 or seconds its like a turbo kicks in LoL.
Any thoughts??? Thanks.

Try playing around with the carb reference pressure location. If you solder a brass tube to the steel carb cover, you are able to rout a line any place you want until the difference after attitude changes goes away.
One proven method is to make a closed balsa box inside the fuselage and connect the line to that box.
