MVVS 45 IRS
Hi
I have an mvvs 45 IRS with a jen inverted muffler : 20x10 6400 rpm, 21x10 5850 rpm, 22x8 6100 rpm. I am planning to buy an MTW TD 75 canister. Will this canister improve my RPM, performance? Thanks for any advice |
RE: MVVS 45 IRS
Desmarets,
The MVVS #3204 canister silencer, with the #3202P/B header will be best for your engine's performance. It is not as cheap and it requires room in the nose, but it will give you the best power. |
RE: MVVS 45 IRS
I agree.
Now he can have smaller for MVVS 45. It is modification of 58 size. |
RE: MVVS 45 IRS
The Jen muffler reduces the 43cc engine's power to a 35! The TD75 improve matters a lot and will give good power. But it will be slightly peakier in the power band if compared to the 3004 MVVS canister.

RE: MVVS 45 IRS
If the JEN inverted silencer is not very good which of the 'Wrap around' style silencers would anyone recommend?
|
RE: MVVS 45 IRS
None! Performance-wise they bring tears to your eyes.

Pete,
I fully agree with Pé. Not mentioning quality, the bolt-on, wrap-around mufflers vibrate badly and are prone to cracking as a result. The dedicated MVVS exhaust system hangs on the engine, at its front end and the rear end is mounted to the airframe. The MVVS 45 cc and all 58 cc engines perform best (by a lot), with an exhaust system that was designed for them. Only the #3204 (with either the 3202/B, or #3202/P header) fits this description. MVVS also makes the #3202/I header for the JMB 80, but there is no reason to prefer it over the original MVVS set. |

Dar and Pe
Thanks for the replies. JEN, who sell the MVVS 45 in UK do not seem to list the 3204 silencer and headers. Can you point me to more information on these silencers and how much do they cost (plus shipping) ? I assume that you both sell them ;) |
RE: MVVS 45 IRS
Pete,
You can E-mail an MVVS dealer elsewhere. I, Pé, or David, for example. |
RE: MVVS 45 IRS
hey pete.
i have a 58cc and i used a da50 slimline muffler after having to modify it. it took me 20mins with a tig welder and a drill press. i have a good steup now and i cannot complain about noise or power. i could only assume that a slimline da50 muffler would make your 45 work well because of its open and non restrictive nature. i had a lot of problems trying to track down a muffler for my engine and i can only guess you are going through the same deal. that slimline muffler is light weight also. i hope i have helped aerowiz. |
