Do you mean for Up/Down thrust?
If so, no. It's built in.
Since it's a pusher prop plane, there is also less of a "P Factor" effect for right thrust too, so get the engine lined up as straight as you can.

IMHO they are not overly weak.
However they do not fair very well on hard landings and stiffer gear may do better UP TO A POINT...
( I would rather have the gear "give" then have the wing or fuselage damage. ).
I put in Robart 510W retracts in mine and these have fairly thick wire.
If you choose to go with the stock gear one simple solution is to solder a piece of re-inforcing wire as a cross brace... much like you would put in a tail support strut.
