I put together the same plane recently. Sadly I didn't have great luck with mine.

I used electric motors with 4500 Mah LiPo's. The plane without retracts wieghed about six pounds, well within the manufacturer's recommendations.

Upon the first attempt to take off, the plane ran off the runway onto the grass, damaging all three fixed gear. I recommend you reinforce the fixed gear mounts when assembling.

I had one decent flight. On the second flight the plane was flying well, when I decided to do some easy aerobatics. I couple of rolls went fine when I decided to do a loop. Upon giving the plane up elevator to start the loop, there was a strange sound from the plane. The Honda Jet would not complete the loop and fell off into a stall turn.

The plane became uncontrollable. I fought for control of the plane for maybe fifteen seconds, then the plane crashed into the ground.

Upon inspecting the damaged plane, the elevator was in perfect condition, eliminating it as the cause of the crash. The right wing was badly damaged and the aluminum spar assembly ripped from the wing. One of the electric motors was torn loose of its mounting pylon.

In talking to other persons at the flying site who witnessed the incident. We agreed that something on the plane had failed when given enough up elevator to do a loop. The strange sound upon entry into the loop was not normal.

Did the wing spar system fail upon the stress of a loop or did the motor come loose? Who knows for sure. In my opinion the wing spar is a weak.

I am responding to your post, not to discourage you in any way. I just hope you can avoid my experience.

I received many compliments on the looks of the Honda Jet, on the ground and its short time in air. I came close to ordering another one.

Best of Luck,

Ben

THANKS FOR YOUR REPLY. AFTER LOOKING AT THE PLANE A LOT CLOSER[8D], I WILL HAVE TO REINFORCE THE GEAR AREAS BECAUSE THEY ARE VERY WEAK[&o] AND I'LL HAVE TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT WITH THE TAIL THEY SAY TO USE A DOWEL AND A SCREW TO ATTACH IT NO GLUE!!!!!! [X(] I'M PUTTING TWO ELECTRIC MOTORS WITH THE SAME POWER AS TWO 32 GLOW ENGINES,USING 40 AMP ESC X 2 , 14.8 LIPO X 2 , AND 10 X 10 ELECTRIC PROPS FROM APC I HOPE THIS COMBO WORKS WELL

I epoxied the tail on, along with the recommended screw and dowel. It worked well, as even after the crash, the tail was still attached solid.

Best of Luck,

Ben
