Default NitroPlanes

I bought 2 planes and an Esky FMS from NitroPlanes. One plane was DOA. The transmitter controller for the other plane had trims that didn't work.... their replacement controller was DOA. The FMS wouldn't work with Vista. They sent me a link for a patch and promised it would fix the problem..... a d3dm.dll driver. The link they sent could not be found. I found the driver on another site but it still didn't work even though I followed their instructions very carefully. None of their products are up to par and I recomend staying as far away from NitroPlanes as possible! They will waste your time and make you will have spend money you shouldn't have to shipping their defective products back to them.

NitroPlanes rarely answers the phone... their return emails can be vague and are often unrelated to the issues. I had to eat $41.08 in return shipping... like throwing it out the window, not to mention the aggrivation of missing the fun of learning to fly the RC electric planes I was so anticipating. Imagine how bummed I was....... I planned to start learning over the Thanksgiving holiday. My heart sank...... my plans completely ruined. My whole family partnered with me on learning this hobby. We were all very disappointed and miffed.

The moral of this post.............. DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM NITROPLANES!!! EVER!!! They are a rip-off that will waste your time and money.

I'm sorry for your poor experience with this company. Listen, there are many wonderful companies out there like, Sullivan, Top Flite, Sig Maufacturing, Brodak, Hobby Lobby the few I have had the pleasure to deal with. I have read post after post regarding this company and RCU members disatisfaction with them. You have a wonderful resource here in the form of RCU members. I asked a question about leadout wires on control line aircraft and received a plethora of information from several RCU members which I printed and will save. Put questions out there and you'll be quite surprised how your fellow members will reach out to offer you sound advice. Don't give up on your new project - we all want you to succeed. You can turn a bunch of lemons into lemonade.

Trying to get into this hobby? Simple, buy a HobbyZone Super Cub. DONE. Charge your battery and tell your family to take a ride out to the field and let the airshow begin. Oh and you may want to revisit nitroplanes after you get some experience and try out a few brushless RTF edf jets because most of those are alot of fun.

Yes, Nitro Planes in not all bad. Most people are satisfied. You're only seeing the bad here because, well, it's the place to complain. The majority of people who frequent this forum have purchased from Nitro Planes, and the majority of them have been very satisfied. And when there is a problem, their go-to-guy, John, really seems to do a great job resolving issues.
I'm really sorry to hear about your bad experience. Indeed, you shouldn't have had to front the return shipping charges. After all, it wasn't your fault. That sucks. I hope you are flying soon, and good luck!

I have to agree with yetti831. I have been flying 2 of Nitro's planes for a couple of yrs & no real problems. The worst thing experience I've had with them has been their instructions. (Use them to cover the bottom of your birdcage) yetti is right about John, it seems like he can get things done. You must remmember too that this is a "complaint thread" all you're going to hear is the bad. It would be interesting to know what the ratio is for satisfied customers to complaints. I had my own business for over 25 yrs,& no matter how hard I tried,I couldn't please everybody. That's life !!!

That little Bobcat 25 with a Monster Power .25 motor and a 14.8v 3850mAh LiPo 20C battery is a screamer and an amazing flyer.

You should give that a shot...

Even the Kingcat owners are quite impressed with mine and believe that it would be a fantastic jet trainer for guys looking to move up.

Properly set up it is quite fast.

You know I was like inches away from getting that Bobcat 25. I bought a Vortex 32 instead, I get that Monday and plan on trying a monster power 32 or 46 in it. I have read some good things about those MP motors and the price is awesome on them. I may get crazy and plop in the biggest motor and batter I can put in the thing and hope the wings don't rip off from too much speed
