My Dad bought a trainer from Nitro Models, and today was the big day...the maiden of the NitroModels ARF Super Trainer 60...Unfortunately, due to poor factory workmanship, and/ or bad glue, the wing came off in flight on approach. The bulkhead in front of the wing where the wing connected pulled out and the wing came off.
A grand total of about 8 minutes on the plane. I took it up to trim, and was surprised at how well it flew then landed, as I had my doubts about Nitro after seeing quite a few of them with problems, but he wanted lower cost. Then he took it up and flew about 8 laps at about half throttle, then came in for the fateful landing.
It is clearly a factory defect, but is the trouble of a refund or replacement worth it? If it were up to me I'd ask for a refund and purchase a different brand of trainer.
Luckily it was low and slow on approach, so nothing but the plane was damaged. The plane is a total loss, except the wing which fluttered gracefully to the ground.

Sorry about your luck. Unfortunately, Nitro as with most lower priced ARFs are not put together with the most care. Always, always, when getting one from anybody, remember go over EVERY glue joint you can see & give it extra attention. Remember, what you're buying, ARF, "ALMOST ready to fly." You might try to PM "John",at Nitro one. If anybody could help you out it would be him. Just look for one of his posts on a Nitro Support post & try him. What have you got to loose? I've had 3 of "Nitro Planes products. I spent probably an extra hour going over every glue joint I could reach. I've had them both for over 3 yrs & no structual problems. Good luck

We have (4) of the low wing trainers flying. Yes they did need some extra work to double check them. I used a lot of epoxy on all of the joints I could reach. I also poured some thinned epoxy where I could not reach.
They do fly very well. Mine died when the battery died and it flew 3 laps all by itself. I have been waiting for them to be in stock again so I could get another one.
As said above. Give John a PM and see what he can do.

Great birds at a GREAT PRICE...especially Black Friday Sale...!!! I always go over EVERY ARF brand, regardless and reinforce the bulkheads, wingbolt seat, firewall or whatever I can get to with epoxy, or the heavy duty black rubberized CA. All brands can fall apart...and guess what 99.9% are made in China, South Vietnam, Malasia or similar. Hey when they pay you $10.00 to $15.00 bucks a week in wages...
I just ordered an Epic LT 120 lastnight from Nitro for $120.00 bucks, (was $249.00 last month) you can bet I'll go over everything when I get it...!!! John may be able to help you on replaceing it, or order another bird, which is virtually a Goldberg Tiger 60 (which is $200.00 and has some questionable issues as well, also made in China). Good luck, BTW I have quite a few of the Nitro planes...best value on the market, unless you compare World Models (Airborne Models Clearance Sale prices)..which are put together very well. I also go over every joint with these as well...Good Luck...!!!
Here is the link to Airborne Models clearence page, don't loose the link besause it is not on their website...
