OS .46 FX Carb Replacement
Hi Bax!
Believe it or not, I just pulled this NIB engine out to install on a plane. Unfortunately, it has the remote needle valve, which I am not a fan of. I have also heard some rumors that this setup is a bit finicky. Can I simply drop in a 40K carb to replace it? Do I have any other options?

We're not familiar with any particular problems with respect to the rear needle on the O.S. Max .46 FX engine. However, that being said, the #40K carburetor will not fit the .46FX because its throat's outside diameter is too small. The #40B carb has a larger O.D., so the #40K carb will not seat properly and seal onto the .46FX engine.
