Default OS .46 Fx sleeve problems

I have an OS.46Fx about 7 years old although I never ran it until last year. It ran fine for a short time and then lost compression and I found the sleeve was peeling like crazy and purchased another piston and sleeve. I now find that the same thing is occuring again. the peeling is severe enough to affect compression and forms a paste of material in the cylinder. Is this common or I am doing something wrong? I don't want to buy another piston and sleeve for half the cost of a new motor and have it happen again. Thanks

If your replacement sleeve is eroding, send us the engine with a note explaining the problem. The latest-production sleeves have not been a problem. From where did you order the piston/liner set? If it was from a local retailer, was it one he's had for a while? O.S. changed the production process several years ago, and the new process makes liners that have been virtually trouble-free.

Thanks for the input. I purchased the new liner from a local hobby shop, so it may have been in inventory for a while.
