Default vspec problem

Hi, I'm having some problems with my vspec...

I've been having problems with my engine when idling... it seems to be a lot inconsistent, and i've already tried a lot to tune the low end and nothing... the engine is not new and has some galons through it, I've already swaped the main bearing, but not the front one (this one is leaking a good bit) I can also see bubbles on the fuel line (no leaks on the line, I've already checked)

engine runs fine, but if i leave it idling rpm's drop and it stalls (sounds like starving....)

Can this be a front bearing problem? any tips?

Thanks for any help!!!

Default RE: vspec problem

Bubble in the fuel line between the tank and engine indicate that air's getting into it. That can be from vibration agitating air into the fuel, or a bad fit of the fuel line to the tank. The pickup in the tank could be leaking, too, depending upon the type of tank.

A bad idle would not be due to a problem at the front bearing. The bearing is not a seal. If you have a bad fit in the front of the engine, it would also throw a LOT of raw fuel around.

If the compression of the engine's good, then idle problems are almost always due to a bad setting. You need to start out with a too-rich idle, get the top-end tuned, and then work on finding the correct idle mixture. You may need to leave the glow plug battery attached to the car while you get this sorted-out.

If the piston/liner fit is starting to wear out, then the idle will be the first to start acting up. This would tend to be indicated if the engine had no problems in the past, but started to have a worse and worse idle.
