Hi,

There was something like that even documented by photos on the eBay in
November or December; maybe it is good to search there with the model
of the engine because I think it was for smalle OS.47.

I am not much in the metalurgy, put in principle this is unfortunately possible.

The good news is that OS is a Very Descent Company and their www-pages
have such places where you can ask for a new Liner even for a the
set of Liner and Piston I think, maybe you wil get even a New Engine,
because this peeling should have NOT happened even outside of the
Waranty period, if you have been using the engine in the way it should
be used, meaning in accordance with the prescribed by OS fuels.

But if you or some of your freiends have used less than 17% lubricant,
then I think you have no chances getting any thing from OS. Most
likely OS will ask you to send them the whole engine; and they will
tell pretty quickly with the lab. spectroscopy what is the story there.

Good luck,
Nikolay

Depending upon how the engine is taken care of, it may or may not have a difficulty with its liner. Typcially, the SF series of O.S. Max engines had little or no difficulties with their liners. Only the .46 FX engine had a number of difficulties. Even other engines in the FX-series had little or no difficulties.
