Default 60L vs 60B

Bax,,, my questions are,

1) shouldn't I expect more power from my OS Hyper 50 with a 60B carb ??

2) after all the extra needle on the 60B will allow more fuel to the motor,, right ??

I had 2 OS Hyper 50s,,, the first one had the 60B on it,, the 2nd one had the stock 60L,,, both motors used the exact same MP2, same fuel, same everything,,

the motor with the 60B had quite a bit more power !!

Default RE: 60L vs 60B

The O.S. Max #60B carburetor has three metering adjustments: High-speed, Midrange, Idle. The three adjustments do not give more power, but allow to to better fine-tune the engine's fuel mixture at different throttle settings. Any power increase would come from compression and the size of the air passage in the carburetor.

yes, I understand about the 3 metering adjustments, I have been running the 60B for 3 years now,,

""Any power increase would come from compression and the size of the air passage in the carburetor"",, I thought the 2 carbs were the same size, are you saying the 60B has a larger throat (air passage)??
