This older .25 Max runs great but the HOT exhaust, is undesirable. Muffler is an OS702 clamp on style w/ exhaust outlet straight out the back of muffler. Later OS mufflers had the outlet at an angle, thus the bulk of the hot exhaust hit the back housing before exiting out the side at an angle. I have the angle outlet on .10 and .25FP's and do not have heat issues. Time to tell you why heat is an issue. I like to use a plastic (1/2"ID) tube to direct the exhaust away from wing and fuse, much less cleanup time. The OS702 muffler with straight outlet will burn through (severely crack) the plastic in a 10 min. flight. I am using an A3 plug. Perhaps another OS muffler back cap will interchange and fit this #702. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

There is no muffler part that will work. You have to live with the muffler as it is. If you must use a deflector, then you can make one out of Teflon (TM) tubing that you can get from a hardware store or home-supply store. Use a small hose clamp to hold it on.
