Default ft160 low compression

What would cause an FT160 to have low compression? Would it be just the piston rings? If I put new ones in would I have to re-breakin the engine?

Thanks, Eric

Default RE: ft160 low compression

Low compression can be caused by a bad piston/ring/cylinder fit, a bad valve seat fit, a leak around the glowplug threads, or a badly-fitting cylinder head. If you change the rings, you will need to re-breakin the engine.
