Default OS 56 FS

Hello:
I have one of the new OS56 FS engines. I need to run a 3 balde prop due to ground clearance. What prop should I run for a scale G.P. Cessna 182 and what revs should I expect? Thanks,
Mark.

What size is the GP Cessna? I have the CMP Cessna 182 50 size and the OS 56a FS in it and have plenty of ground clearance with the 12-6 prop on it. I had to cut the Cowl for the 56ato fit.

Hello:
Its the Great Planes Cessna 182http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXUW98&P=MLI'll try a range of props and see how the plane flies. What revs do you get with the 12 x 6?
Thanks,
Mark.

I Have not had a chance to check it yet but plan to break in the engine this weekend. Here is a pic of the clearance.

While a 3-blade prop is not indicated by O.S., We'd estimate that you can use a 12 x 7 or so.  We'd not know the RPM any one prop may turn.  However, if you set the engine/prop combination so that the engine will turn in the high 9,000's when leaned to just rich of peak RPM on the ground, you should do OK.  Any prop that will give you that RPM and fly your model is "correct".
