Default Need to know about compression

with out sounding stupid, what is the fastest way to check if an engine has good comression. I am not sure how to tell. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

Steve,

Generally, if the engine will run well, deliver good power, and have a good idle and acceleration, the compression is good. When the compression seal starts to wear out, the idle and acceleration are the first things to go bad, even if the engine still runs well at full throttle.

We don't have any particular compression numbers for you, and O.S. doesn't have a specification for compression.
