RE: OS FS-120 Surpass-II with a pump
Could I also have a copy of the FS-120 Surpass II instructions? I bought an engine at our last local aution and have no instruction. I have been able to identify it as a Surpass II based on review of past forum discussions. I have not yet run the motor and would like to know the recommended break-in, prop size, so on and so on. My email is [email protected] THANKS

I also am requesting that you send a copy of instructions for a Surpass II 1.20. Hopefully, it will tell me how to plump the tank!

I know this sounds redundant, but I have just purchased the same engine w/o a manual and would appreciate the instructions.

RE: OS FS-120 Surpass-II with a pump
HI,
my story is that a club member want's me to fix his OS FS 120 Surpass 11 with Pump and a C13 carburetor and he has no manual,
I would be gratfull if you could send me any kind of manual for this engine as well as any info on locating parts for the engine and especialy the carb and pump.
I am having a surging problem at high speed and not sure whats causing this problem at this time,
the engine is in great codition the pump has lots of pessure and every thing looks good, I could have a simple problem that I cant notice with this engine since Im not familiar with this model,
Any help would be greatly appriciated.
Many Thanks

Bosco,
Manual sent.
Surging is caused by a too-rich high-speed needle setting. Please see the following link for carb setting of pumped engines:

RE: OS FS-120 Surpass-II with a pump
I'm trying to rebuild my C13 carb and was able to get all the orings on the C13 parts illustrated breakdown, but there are 3 o-rings under the diaphram (just above the choke valve) that are not shown. Two of the o-rings are very small ~4mm OD. I talked with hobby services and they were unable to help. Is there anyway to find out what size these are and material? A place to get new ones? If not what about using another carb?

RE: OS FS-120 Surpass-II with a pump
I have just acquired the same engine and you guessed it, no manual.
My tank setup looks like a plumber's nightmare.
I have a line to the pump, a line out of the pump back to the tank and a line from the pump to the carb. These are all marked "in" "out" and "return or R" if I remember correctly. There is a line from the crankcase to the intake manifold(which was on the engine when I got it) and a vent line from the tank. This was plumbed by committee so I have no idea if it is correct. I ran the engine but couldn't get it to lean out. Prop was an APC 16 x 7 if that makes a difference. Maybe a little much?
Any thoughts? I can close the needle and cannot blow through the line. No leakage.
Thanks in advance
Joe

It sounds like the system is plumbed correctly. If your engine cannot be leaned, then it's possible that the needle seat in the carburetor is damaged. That will require the replacement of the carburetor body and needle valve. Unfortunately, the #C-13 carburetor for your engine is no longer available. You'd have to locate one through one of the retailers who specialize in finding parts for the engine collectors' market.

RE: OS FS-120 Surpass-II with a pump
a friend of mine was "serving" his OS 120 surpass when the camshaft broke loose from its position With no clue about timing he cannot replace it. He told me that there a "t" mark on the crank that supposedly has to be for timing the camshaft, the question is how ,Could you plesae give me some directions? He is also asking me (i`m the expert, you know) how could he polish the valve seats.

Here's how to set the timing:
http://www.osengines.com/faq/product-faq.html#q15
For the valves, we use toothpaste to clean them up a bit. There is very little metal so if the valves fit very badly, you will need to replace the valves and cylinder head.
