Default Antifreez Engine Cleaning Question

Could cleaning your engine in a Crock-Pot with Antifreeze damage it in any way? I've heard that this really works well, but if you use this method you have to take the carburetor off and clean it separately. RCM magazine recommended this.

Have you used the method yourself? Would you suggest using the method?
Thank you,
Mike D'Amico

Default Antifreez Engine Cleaning Question

Sorry, but we've never used the antifreeze-in-crock-pot method, so we can't comment on it. We use the "tried and true" method of hot, soapy water and four-oh (0000) steel wool for cleaning. It takes a bit longer, but we don't have a steaming pot of toxic liquid in our shop or garage.
