OS 160 FX
I just purchased an OS 160FX for my World Model Extra (80") and would like to query on a few things:
i. running in ... what would be the best method for an engine this size; and ii. would it be advisable to install an oscilating (non-powered) Perry pump, I was informed I need to tap a pressure nipple from the back plane. Thanks!!! |
RE: OS 160 FX
I you are planing on useing the Perry Oscilating Pump, there is no need to drill and tap the back plat. I have a Perry Oscilating pump on my OS 91FX and it runs great. Just follow the instructions on installation and the Pump will work out great.

RE: OS 160 FX
Breakin should be performed per the instructions.
You don't need a pump unless the fuel tank is going to be far away from the engine. Muffler pressure is usually enough, unless your muffler doesn't provide enough pressure. Many after-market mufflers do not provide enough pressure, and you may have to restrict the exhaust outlet on those mufflers to generate good pressure to the tank. Oversize fuel tubing and a clunk with a larger I.D. will not hurt fuel draw. Large engines draw a lot of fuel, and fuel-line drag can become a factor. |

Thank you ...
