OS 160 FX

I just purchased an OS 160FX for my World Model Extra (80") and would like to query on a few things:

i. running in ... what would be the best method for an engine this size; and
ii. would it be advisable to install an oscilating (non-powered) Perry pump, I was informed I need to tap a pressure nipple from the back plane.

Thanks!!!

I you are planing on useing the Perry Oscilating Pump, there is no need to drill and tap the back plat. I have a Perry Oscilating pump on my OS 91FX and it runs great. Just follow the instructions on installation and the Pump will work out great.

Breakin should be performed per the instructions.

You don't need a pump unless the fuel tank is going to be far away from the engine. Muffler pressure is usually enough, unless your muffler doesn't provide enough pressure. Many after-market mufflers do not provide enough pressure, and you may have to restrict the exhaust outlet on those mufflers to generate good pressure to the tank.

Oversize fuel tubing and a clunk with a larger I.D. will not hurt fuel draw. Large engines draw a lot of fuel, and fuel-line drag can become a factor.
