Default Checking VIN numbers?

Can ayone tell me if there is a way to check (motorcycle) VIN numbers online to see if a vehical is stolen? Found a deal that might be to good to be true.

Usually a call to the cop shop or DMV will let you know if it's hot or not.
If the deal was too good to be true, maybe somebody else did you a favor.
