at work today another employee said to me he was going to stab me if i didnt tell him who was talking about him behind his back i kept telling him that noboddy was talking behind his back , he wasnt joking and was serious , anyway i let it go , but then told another fellow worker about what happened , and i told him i didnt tell the boss because i dont want to start a fight and argument at work with this guy , but he insisted that i go tell the boss , so ok i went and told the boss , the boss told that guy off ,then this guy deny it happened , so now this guy isnt talking to me LOL . ( DID I DO THE RIGHT THING BY TELLING THE BOSS ?)

So, after having read what you wrote about 5 times trying to decipher it, I've come to this conclusion....
NO, you didn't do the right thing.
Bloke A is a nutjob saying he's gonna stab you if you don't tell him who's talking about him.
You walk away, tell bloke B what happened, maintaining that you don't want to cause trouble.
Bloke B convinces you to tell the boss anyway.
The boss tells Bloke A off.
Bloke A isn't talking to you.
Bloke A is paranoid, possibly armed and dangerous.
Regardless of whether anyone is talking about him or not, you did the complete opposite of what he asked you.
All you've done is piss him off and he may now end up stabbing you......
