RE: How long have you been into rc?
Since the mid 70s. I started with boats, did one car early and then briefly raced cars in the mid 80s. Learned to fly in the early 80s. Still flying planes and racing boats.

I started crashing planes back in the `70's. From there, I went in and out from indoor cars to boats to off-road, back into planes for a little while, into off-road again and have now settled into nitro boats again. I still mess with trucks and backyard flyers once in a while.

About 40 years, with a few long breaks away from the hobby during that time frame. I started back when you had to learn everything from books, magazines, other people or figuring it out yourself. Since before Al Freaking Gore claimed to have invented the internet.

RC? since 1973. Started non-RC modeling before that with COX control-line planes about 1968. In 1973, RC equipment was out of my price range, but I did manage to find set used. Here it is:
I bought the transmitter and receiver but needed something to move things. The system was originally intended for a rubber band powered escapement such as this:
Instead I made a little box that looked like a servo, but the output wheel only went in one direction and continued to move as long as the transmitter button was held down. I still have the original boat (Dumas Li'l Swamp Buggy) and equipment:

Bought my first Nitro RC car at 16 before I had a real car, 26 years later still have an RS4 3, Sportwerks Turmoil, HPI Savage and an Xmaxx., My greatest treasure although I sold it was a Losi 8eight E 2.0 what a rocket that was!
