eMule. Best one on the net, used to use KazaaLite, a ripped program that a hacker-savvy friend of mine created. It could access Kazaa's servers without the spyware.

yikes, somebody needs to buy a facetiousness detector, LOL, it woulda been pegged.
my XP Pro was free, my copies of GTA:SA and GTA:VC for pc are both pirated, would you like me to go on?
and nothin pisses me off more than a crappy music file...

Oh well. Even my XP isnt paid for. But dont YOU feel special cuz "I don't download ANYTHING illegally"?
All i read about everywhere else is "lime wire this" and "lime wire that". Absolutely hate that program. Nothing but second hand quality songs (most are 128K bps or worse) and programs.

Yes, this is not the place to discuss religion or politics.
Off Topic Forum - Cars/Boats
Get to know your fellow RCU member modelers in here and discuss off topic non-rc stuff. Only two topics OFF LIMITS are religion and politics. This forum for car & truck members. Plane & Heli members have their own in clubhouse section.

I haven't tried Linux so I can't say anything pro or con about it. Mozilla has just released their latest version of Firefox and am curious about that.
As far as what was said concerning religion in here, it wasn't much of a reference at first so it was probably okay.
I've seen some signatures that have been passed like " Drive it 'til you see God, then back off" or others to that effect.
OK, back to the story..........................

RE: P2P File sharing. What do you use?
Yeah, I use firefox because of the tabbed browsing, its just easier, I usually got one on the boat forum , one here, and one on cars, then one on ebay, just keep lookin when your waiting for a page to load. I want to try linux because of the security, im tired of viruses with windows , I just had to reformat my compuer yesterday because of that and all the spyware/adware. As for p2p sharing i've used just about all of them kazaa, morpheus, tornado, imesh, kiwialpha, shareaza, bearshare, bit-torrent, grokster, nucleus, napster, and limewire. I still say kiwi-alpha was great, many search results, searches through multiple networks, it just plays through windows media player instead of a built in media player. If you can live with that its a great program. Kazaa every other download is infected with a virus, morpheus is just old, as is tornado. Imesh was great, very very few viruses, multiple results, and fast downloading. I only use bit-torrent when downloading things other than songs.

Some stuff with work without any extra drivers (linux has a lot of them built in), but my TV tuner, for example, is still not working with it.
Also, most software you find in stores wont work with it.

I've tried knoppix and phat linux.
The best thing to do is just install both OS's on the same computer, that way whenever you want to use Windows you just reboot your system and select windows from the boot list.

When they work they are great, but when there is nobody seeding it either takes forever to download, and often never even starts to download. Thats the downside with torrents, many of them are doomed.
