RE: Does anyone Race GO-KARTS
I raced karts for 4 years now, but im done with it. It was loads of fun, but im going to be 16 soon and need to save for a real car. Im not sure about your area but some places have what they call "arive and drive" programs, where you pay a certain fee and use their karts. They arent your average rentals karts, but you dont actually own them, they are high performance and everything, but not as good as it gets, but its still a good way to see if your gonna like it. After youve made up your mind you can move into the next class, and have your own kart. Theres a few classes: 5.5hp , 6.5hp, world formula, and rotax. Each one of those catagories has sub catagories like jr. and sr. World formula and Rotax are pretty evenly matched for power, but WF is 4 stroke and Rotax is 2. Heres a picture of my World Formula kart. They go for roughly 6-7 thousand brand new. Im looking to sell it now, but if your looking to get into the sport, I would recomend a Biesse or F1k kart, they are both great karts.

Well im getting out of this kind of racing mostly because of all the travelling and i dont have time. I might get into enduro, or street stock, full sized car racing. A used kart like this can range from 2500-3500, thats a reasonable price.
