RE: Instant Messenger....
I have the ones that my friends use. I have MSN built into my 'puter but never bothered to use it. I do have AIM, ICQ and YIM. ICQ is the biggest pain in the butt because of getting messages from women (maybe not) in Russia or some other country wanting to bug me. I had one that kept wanting me to add her to my buddy list. She went from being someone that I work with to living just around the corner yet lived on some island that I never heard of when I checked her Bio.
I rarely turn the IM's on any more as there are just some times that I don't want to be bothered.

RE: Instant Messenger....
I have used all the major IM programs at one time or another. I settled on Yahoo Messenger and have never had a problem, ie. no bugs in the lastest version at least. There are not very many people I chat with, maybe 8 or 10. I don't even know 200 people like the young folks do and there is no way I could chat with all of them if I did.
