shocking pens
Hey. well i remember a while ago these pens were the "cool thing"
and when the person touched the button it would give them a mild shock.
well how are they made?
can i make one with some diodes and what not ?
any one ever made one or have plans for one ?
thanks

They basically turn the battery dc to ac and then run it through a transformer. I dont know circuit diagrams but if you go to a photoshop and ask for a disposable camera they will give you a free one. If you replace the cap with wires they will give you about the same amount of shock.

Home made is dead easy, take apart one of those electric cigarette lighters, take the 'strike' out, it's normally a thin plastic box with a wire on the end. superglue it into a pen with a metal 'button' and bob's your mother's brother. They are quite tough to strike, but that only makes people try harder!! When it does go off, it has quite a kick. Also no battery required, should last virtually forever. I haven't tried, I just cooked that up in my head while I was thinking about it, but I'm sure it will work.
