Nice, those tamiya decals fit real well on the Parma shell. It must be a near exact replica.

Looks like a real project, do you know how much -- Total -- it cost to build up??

Hmm... I never keep track... (joke)

All the #s are just from my memory.. approximate..

Roller = $50 from eBay

2 sets of Lunsford Ti turnbuckles (got those by mistake, I mean, I really did not need Titanium... LOL!) = $30?

Gold HPI wheel = $20

Dirt Hawg tires = $30 (?)

DF-03 TRF style shocks = $60 (but I stole them from my Dark Impact)

Gorilla strap = $10? No idea...

Beetle shell = $25

Tamiya OEM sticker = $12 (??)

SS5800 PRO motor = $80

LRP AI PRO BL/Brushed ESC = $117 (I think)

Novak big cap = $12

Novak heatsink = $18 (?)

Body mount = $5 (?)

New pinion = $3

RX = $100

S3305 servo = $32 (?)

Kimbrough servo saver $3

I think that's about it.... ha!

It is pretty quick, but not stupid quick... and pretty fun to drive.. wide enough to not flip over even on pavement.. good basher, I guess! I just wish I live closer to a beach!

The LRP ESC is waterproof, by the way... I just need to put the RX in a balloon and it is ready for snow!

Heheh, Yeah, funny how quickly the parts add up on those things! That's not bad though, had you started with a 300 dollar chassis, you probably would have been around 800!

Came out good, now I just gotta get it together and finish my own project!

Yeah, the thing is, I seem to always keep my RCs.. instead of like selling them like you.. so you don't have as much $$$ tied up in RCs..

I need to start selling some stuff... LOL!!

Right, because E-Firestorm will crawl really well, right?

ORIGINAL: eddiebelanger

the more and more i work on this crawler the more of a money pit it is i think i just may sell it. buy a e-firestorm and though a brushless system in it with 7 cell 4200's nihms and it would still be cheaper then a crawler.
i am just saying for the price you could have so much more

I was just looking at your gallery TEX. You have really progressed on your helicopters. The signature is as impressive as your inverted hover.

I hope to get back into helicopters again. The initial is expensive, but you don't break parts for what seems like no reason unless you crash; unlike cars.
Thanks man!

It is interesting that the Hilux is listed as $440 at Tower.. which is a lot higher than the F-350..

While their MSRP price at TamiyaUSA are identical...

Hmmm..... just Tower jacking up the price, maybe??
Come on LB, are you serious? It's $440 because it's the Hilux. It's at a premium price because of it.

Well guess I am a true RC aficionado now.... On order from Tower "Tamiya 1/12 R/C Lunch Box Gold Edition"

I also picked up an AXE CP last month still just hovering off the ground with it. Had two trips to go on, so limited time to fly and I just got a lipo Battery for it.

LB I got Kelly the Nuvi 660, it is great but I have been told it cannot be strapped to any RC vehicle
