new product alert WEEEEEE for anyone lookin for an UBER strong BEC for those big brushless conversion.. "or maybe auto and his giant scale airplanes"

http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=6233

ill be grabbing one or 2 for my brushless stuff to alleviate the extra strain of bec on high amp controllers..
That's a pretty good deal there. I don't use BEC's though for my large scale airplanes that are electric. I run an extra receiver battery and disable the BEC. As a precaution, say the battery runs out of juice or there is a problem I still will have control over the airplane somewhat to avoid a serious crash and/or injury.

Hey LB you are running on FM 75 mhz or did you switch over to 2.4? If FM what channel are you on, I am ordering the Futaba 3PM I believe. And it would be horrible if we were on the same frequency ha ha.

On another note, do you think this is a good radio fit for me? I do not race, I probably use my r/c's as much as LB, but I want to have somewhat decent equipment. I realize the 3pks has more functions, but I doubt I would use them.
We all went over this once already with you!

Futaba 3PM
Ok ok . Just waiting on LB's frequency so I do not order the same one.

LOL, stop crashing...

Yeah, brushed motor.. silvercan or BL, remember?!

I guess I do have S600s and Titan 12T as well.. I like them big can motors!!

I don't think I should be touching my RCs for a while and just go back to plumbing, cause the amount of things I have broken in the past week is nuts....

3 motors have been fried (I think the only motors that haven't given me trouble are the good ol' sealed ones)
I broke a hub to the XR311...and it wasn't even being run.
I smashed a crystal somehow while I wasn't even running the car.
I stripped one spur gear, and how? The motor is in a set position how does it not mesh up right?
I can't find the tranny for the TXT....
Maybe I should not run anything over 3300mah in terms of batteries, cause I break everything when I give things POWER.

My TXT and Stadium Blitzer (and the Scalpel Pro, which is not being used) are on 2.4GHz..

The others are all still on 75MHz FM..

I think my channel are either 77 or 75...

I have the synth module on my 3PKS, though.. so I can change the channel on the fly... (as long as the RX that I use are the synth one..)

Only you can tell what's a good radio for you.. I like Futaba in general just because they feel like an instrument.. some other brands, while I am sure they are fine.. just look and feel like toys.. (some looks like a Transformer.. LOL!) From 3PM to 3PKS is a pretty big hike on price.. I say, unless you want all the flexibility in the world (you can swap in the 2.4GHz module, change to 75MHz synth module, re-program all the switches, etc.) a 3PM is probably perfectly fine..

I still have a 3PM as backup as well!

Started painting the RX-8 body this weekend, got 2 coats on. Wow, this stuff really goes on light, seems like I'll need the whole can to make it good. LOL Guess I'm used to using black and that dark orange too much.

Didn't get a chance to take any pics of the TA05R in decent light now that I've got the electronics in...oops. Kinda forgot.

I did run it around a tad though, just a little to test it out. Wow, this thing is tight. Very sharp steering, and very quick (even on 6 cells) with the MM5700. It just wants to jump when you hit it. Nice grip on those tires for sure!

I can't wait to run it full bore w/the body on!

The acceleration is ludicrous!

I had that MM in my Bosscat w/street tires - grip was ok, but it was hard to control sometimes since traction was lost now and again. I'll see once I go full bore, but so far that TA05 just grabs the road. Nice!

Never had a TC before, now I can see the appeal.
