I posted a detailed explanation why this happens in the LOUNGE 2 thread. Please excuse me if I can't be bothered to type it all out again. The very short version is that when the first post of a new thread page is deleted, any replies made using the 'fast reply' box, which automatically replies 'to' the previous post, deleted or not, the subject will then show 'deleted', as the fast reply is replying to a deleted post (the last in the logical order). The only way to return the subject to what it was is to find the last post which has the appropriate subject, and use the 'reply' button on that post. The subject will then return to what it was.
