A 2JZ wouldn't be too bad, actually.
Finding parts in the US for an RB would be kinda hard, I'd think.
Hate for an RB powered DD to break down, and be out for weeks.

My current car has an LS1. ('02 WS6)
But, 240's are a LOT lighter. Engine would be a different animal in such a light car, lol.

You want to "hear" it? OK. It's a LS6 454 with a 255/260 @.050 solid lifter cam and 3 chamber "original" Flowmasters.

Why not try to shoehorn a VG20DET into it? It might not be easy but it'll be different.

a silver 850 csi just went through the auction here, it was a 1996 with 140,000 miles on it, went for only $19,600 which I though was a good deal, the paint was very nice, koneg wheels and p sub asymetrico tires on it, full alpine radio system, all it needed was the driver seat redone and it would have been an awesome car, it was not torn or ripped or anything you could just tell someone had there butt in it for alot of miles as it had alot of wear marks and a few cracks forming.

Did someone say 2jz in a 2700lb car? Sure, why not...many have also done ls1 conversions into the S2000, but of course, that's a chassis that can handle it. But in an S, both those engines require serious shoehorning, it's a nightmare task...

850csi? Yes, please.

A LS1 makes anything better! LOL. It's a very capable engine and is flexible enough to be mounted in just about anything and make it scream. GM got that engine design right.

the only thing I would put a ls1 in is the bottom of the ocean I would sooner use a pontiac, olds or even caddy motor before I used a small block chevy, of course I am a ford guy with only a tiny shread of respect (big blocks and 302s, maybe the large journal 283 and 327s) for anything chevy, even buick ranks higher in my book lol. But as they say to each there own, if we all liked the same stuff the world would be boring and bland thats for sure

Awesome. So for around 16K I could probably find a good example huh? Or maybe an excellent example if I find a guy who doesn't know any better.

Back to the LS engines. I like the LS series because they make 500 easy horsepower with just a cam change-and a mild one at that. Get into the heads and 600 is nothing. With a big cam and good heads, 700+ is yours. Their high flow head design is the key to their power production. Whatever took GM so long to come out with that design is beyond me, but they seemed to have found the holy grail of small block power production. These engines are by far the easiest of all of GMs engines to make big power with and have effectively rendered a factory big block offering obsolete. And they make power (and torque) with small cubes too in a very lightweight package. They make my heavy 454 look stupid because they make the same power (and more) with half the build up effort, a quarter less cubes and over a hundred pounds less pork. LOL. If I had the money to build another engine, I'd build up a wild LS for my Camaro.
edit- Bill Mitchell is on the same page as me. I love this old style small block block with the superior LS heads crate engine he has put together. Pure genius! http://www.theengineshop.com/prods_p...otownls427.htm

RE: Let's hear what you have for the 1:1 real car??
Don't have a car yet, but I'm planning on buying and restoring a muscle car( i know where an old car lot is with about 100 or so cars). I did come across a 1970 GSX with a 455 stage 1, 4 speed, and in Saturn Yellow for $1500 (CAD) with no rust, but the deal fell through.[&o]
