GM is good about not discontinuing parts. They actually still make the forged 3.1 liter Turbo GTP crank and have it in the GMPP catalog!
the GM 60 degree pushrod V6 is an underrated little beast ITBJHO.

You nailed it right on the head! That is the problem with the NBA today you have squads spending a crap load of money for the one star player and a so so supporting team. The reason I love the Celtics is they are a team and play as a team. You can't rely on one man to carry you through no matter how great they are. If you look back Kobe couldn't do it alone, Jordan couldn't, Bird couldn't etc, etc... All those guys won titles because they had good teams. If you know you are going to lose a game because one person is inured you aren't doing something right. Look at Lebron with the triple double it doesn't mean crap. I rather see him in a better team scoring less but winning more.

Nobody knows yet... I'm sure his new contract will be huge.. ha!!
I like Lebron but he can't do it by himself... Celtics is a better team, I guess... !!

Yeah, for Celtics, if one of the big 3 has an off day, they still got the rest of the team to back it up...
If Lebron is hurt... Cavs = in trouble.. !

Mazdaspeed 6
Legacy GT (last gen)

I think that overall they were thinking more about the Outback when they designed it. Since the not so popular Legacy is the base of the much more popular Outback, they have to take that into consideration during design. As a result, the '10 Legacy looks way too tall and boxy, the result of the Outback version looking even more SUV-like this year.
My feelings on the different generations alternates:
1st Gen: Dislike. Aside from the rare Legacy SS.
2nd Gen: Like. My favorite overall, too bad the power options were limited and there was the head gasket fiasco. Outback created.
3rd Gen: Dislike. It isn't bad, but I don't care for the front end and the head gasket fiasco continued in the early years. Outback popularity exploded though.
4th Gen: Like. They finally got it right. Even better looking than the 2nd gen and they finally got the power right. Also head gasket problem fixed.
5th Gen: Dislike. Maybe better luck on the 6th?

Why not a Pontiac 6000STE [&:]
Then gank the turbo setup from an '89-90ish Grand Prix GTP?
Be a lot more fun

And yeah, those were available (standard?) with AWD. There were a few vehicles from every company where it was a high dollar option. The Ford Tempo, believe it or not, had an AWD option. Chrysler had (and still has) it on their top end minivans.
Problem was these were afterthought systems bolted onto a transverse powertrain. Not particularly good designs I'm afraid.
I think my favorite "what the...?" vehicle is still the turbocharged minivans from Chrysler. My old girlfriend's dad had one. "Waste of a turbo" he used to say. But he liked vehicles that were unique yet affordable.

How about the old Previa van from Toyota?? RWD, supercharged.. on a minivan?!? Kind of strange.. !!

That all stopped after the 90s. Now just about everything there has a transverse FWD powertrain with no fun and no fuss. Yeah, there are some high performance versions and some unique specimens here and there, but for the most part everything is boring now.

Agree that there's much less interesting cars out there now..
Nothing at all from Toyota... (used to have the MR Spyder.. !)
Mazda still has cool stuff.. Miata, Mazdaspeed stuff, RX8 (sweet!!)
Nissan has the Infiniti RWD stuff.. 370Z, GT-R..
Nothing too interesting from Honda nowadays.. no more S2000.. !

RE: THE LOUNGE 3...
Indeed. I have always liked Mazda, for the fact that they've always had performance models and they brought back the rotary. I know not everyone likes it, but I just like the fact that there's something out there besides inline and V engines. Subaru and Porsche were getting lonely with their boxers I think. [&:]
And yeah, Subaru has performance models too... But most of the cars they sell are base models and SUV alternatives like the Outback and Forester. Not a lot of fun there either. [&o]

RE: THE LOUNGE 3...
my mom rented a charger! its the 3.5l v6 (specifically the sxt). when she got home and i saw it she told me its throttle wasnt as sensitive as she thought it would be (i would've never guessed that 250hp in a 5,000 pound car would have a dull throttle). she wanted a kia rondo (its a cross over) but its classified as a full size and so is the charger. i told her not to expect good fuel economy and she asked why (because we all know that pony cars get better mpg than the yaris) .
