Default MythTV

http://www.mythtv.org/

I had one last year before they went to digital. I started this tv season off with a new one and just plain love it.

Does anyone else have/build one of these? How do you like it?

Favorite features are commercial skip, time-synch. I can watch most 1 hr shows in about 30 minutes. Try it you'll like it if you have free hd tv like me.

It has lots of bugs and one needs computer skills to operate it. I don't have much computer skills , but I have a pc guy that does all my work. He built it for me. http://www.mythtv.org/detail/mythtv

I had a MythTV box up and running for a while, and it is true they aren't for the faint of heart. Mine was cobbled together from old hardware and sometimes the machine would just have a fit and not work. I can't remember what the issue was though.

A friend of mine built his out of brand new components, known to work perfectly with MythTV, and his is pretty cool. I think it has 3 or even 4 tuners in it so he never misses a program. But his wife is a reality TV addict so I think that's why he built it.

Cool, My old one had 2 tuners , but this one only has 1. I rarely have a conflict still. I don't think I can get along w/out it.

ps I don't have cable or a cell phone either.
