Default choosing a computer?!?!?help needed from computer guys..

my computer has crashed so, i need to buy a new one . i'm looking at gaming laptops and i'm having trouble deciding.

i really like this one and it seems like an awsome deal:[link=http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Gateway+-+Laptop+with+Intel%26%23174%3B+Core%26%23153%3B2+D uo+Processor+-+NightSky+Black/9548661.p?id=1218122908891&skuId=9548661]http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Gateway+-+Laptop+with+Intel%26%23174%3B+Core%26%23153%3B2+D uo+Processor+-+NightSky+Black/9548661.p?id=1218122908891&skuId=9548661[/link]

but for an extra 459 dollars which is a lot of money (any .21 for my buggy, an upgrade kit etc) i can get this one:[link=http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Gateway+-+FX+Edition+Laptop+with+Intel%26%23174%3B+Centrino %26%23174%3B+2+Processor+Technology/9605365.p?id=1218130485627&skuId=9605365]http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Gateway+-+FX+Edition+Laptop+with+Intel%26%23174%3B+Centrino %26%23174%3B+2+Processor+Technology/9605365.p?id=1218130485627&skuId=9605365[/link]

asuming i want to play games. both computers should be able to play today's games at a decent speed right? how much better is the second one?? i know gateways are not the best but i've had 2 of their laptops and they have been great. awsome bang for your buck. any other suggestions are welcome as long as it is a laptop under 1100 usd.

all help is appreciated

The first one will not be able to play current pc games very well... It graphics card is an Intel Media accelerator which is a no can do. The second one has a GTX 260M. A very good card for gaming. The second laptop is definitely faster.

No Alienware? Honestly Do some research on what you want. Don't just pick between two of them. FOXY would be one of the best guys to ask as far as getting a New laptop or anything having to do with a computer. If your going to spend a decent chunk of money on something your going to have for awhile, you better like what you bought [:-]

I build my own computers so I know my stuff. The thing is, he says for alot more money ( according to him ) he can get the more expensive one. Which is just above a grand. Alienware laptops start at 1500 minimum. Basically trying to find a gaming laptop for 1000 is quite a challenge.

Yeah I Hear you on that. Buying a gaming PC is like buying a PC that can pretty much do anything else with ease.
I say a few Alienware laptops on fleabay for $500 but then YES that is fleabay. If I was going to build up a comp. I would bring $800 to the table and expect to pay a bit more on top of that
