RE: Should I resurrect the soap opera thread?
Thank you, Reiko. That definitely belongs under the topic of a soap-opera.
My mother watches Days of Our Lives while we eat lunch. My dad and I are amazed at how many times a person can die on that program and be back in a couple of weeks as if nothing ever happened. There is one older guy, I don't know the names of the characters, whom Mom says has died at least six (6) times and he is still on there. I have seen numerous characters commit felonies and none of them ever get convicted. You can carry fiction only so far then it becomes totally ridiculous. Obviously I am not a fan of soap-operas but I would never condemn anyone who is. Some of the programs I really like, such as Home Improvement, are ridiculous in their own ways.

RE: Should I resurrect the soap opera thread?
You know, there have been more than a few GH characters who have died and come back as the same character and sometimes as a new character with a ridiculous link to the previous. It can be very silly, but the compound and long-term character development are what keep me watching.
After almost 12k episodes, I would imagine the creative juices are dust.

My wife watches these Soap Operas. Days or Or Lives, One Life to Live, etc, etc. I can't stand it. I watch the Speed Hannel while working on my RC's.

Why don't you ask if one of the ''Chinese brands'' is any good, start a discussion about the use of Permatex for engine sealing or ask for the truly proper method of tuning a nitro engine? Or you could ask ''kit or ARF?'' Or you could ask about boosting your radio range to 5 miles. Or you could ask how to enforce the rules at your local flying club or whether or not the AMA is helping the hobby. If you want a soap opera, any of those is sure to start one!
