RE: My New Shark
Most successful car of all time is Toyota. If domestic were so great, seems they would be #1.
Makes a person wonder.

RE: My New Shark
Yer right. Theyre great cars. Terrific. But with just as many problems as the next company try convincing me that theyre the BEST....
http://www.toyota.com/recall/?srchid=K16005_p280587120
http://blogs.consumerreports.org/car...ighlights.html
Ive owned an '89 Supra, and '86 Celica Supra and a 1992 Celica GTS. All good cars, but not without their own problems, otherwise Id still own them today.
And red, I was stating in the first part just how nice the "American Junk" Ive owned is, and also trying to poke and prod to see how he feels that my American junk truck hauls more imports to the scrap yard than anything else. If he wants to get into an argument or sit there and say s*%t about American vehicles and how much better imports are then he should do it with a guy whos spent his LIFE in and around vehicles and garages, working on ALL makes and models and also making part of my living hauling what cant be fixed away for cash money. I can sit here and talk crap about vehicles from nearly a dozen different makers just because Ive owned em, some Fords included. More so I can talk about way more than that from having to work on em. But I wont unless Ive done some form of research, personal experience or at least SOMETHING to back my claims up.
If youre going to burn my flag, wrap yourself in it first. If you dont like it here, Ill help you pack, and before you bash our vehicles in favor of ones from other locations, make damn sure ya know what youre talking about.

Because the average consumer knows what they're buying, right?
Because the average consumer knows what they're buying, right?
True, sarcasm noted and in most cases the consumer is a bigger idiot than the proverbial lady in white gloves holding the ketchup popsicle. Nobody stops for two seconds and thinks "Hmm, if I'm going to be spending this kinda money on something, maybe I should look into it a little bit.".
And its people like that who dont realize what all is wrong with a used car they are looking at, buy vehicles based solely on one or two aspects and get shafted on everything else, or buy a GM not realizing that many of their vehicles are actually just re-badged Daewoos since GM bought them out in (I believe) 2001. Nobody researches because the public masses have been trained thru their whole lives by way of consumerism and corporate tactics to plain and simply not think, just buy.

although cars today use lighter metal and material, they still weigh a HELL of alot more than even 10 years ago, look at the mustang, camaro and challenger bloated at or beyond 4,000lbs, when those models years ago made with heavier steel were under 3500lbs
even honda's are bloated.
and always heavy BMW are even heavier now.

True, and it's also true that vehichles of today are MUCH bigger than they were in the past, but for some odd reason that forgot to be mentioned, well that is until I mentioned it.

though it will be far from a slug after the head swap, proformance intake, stock 750cfm carb, vortec heads and 1.6 roller rockers, true dual exhaust and possibly headers. 330-370HP sounds right.

Let's not forget your gears, son. What gears are in the rearend now? something like 3.08s?
Do up some 3.42s or 3.55s or 3.73s. Enjoy your rocket.

Don't mind Ford, just equaling the M3's performance for half of the price...
