Default EPA IS AFTER US...

See this: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060318/...ot/mowers_smog

Guess they wouldn't like our smoke systems much.

I can see it now, "Super X R/C Plane, only 10 lbs." (catalytic converter may add up to 6 pounds) or, "Whatchamacallit R/C's new carbon fiber catalytic converter, only 4 pounds (without brackets)."

GRRRR...

I was just going to post this article also. I am embarrassed my senator's name is in that article. I just don't understand how my weedwacker that is ran for 3 minutes once a month can cause more pollution the parking lot freeways that criss cross both the San Francisco Bay Area and all of California where I live. What a waste of time and legislation.

EXACTLY!! And it will cost jobs and make life miserable for the manufacturers and the operators of the equipment.

Usually it's the upper class, high wage earners that are ok with the government and what it does, because it works for them. But the other day my doctor said, "I think the whole system in the United States is so broken there's no hope of fixing it."

I am so tired of the goverment in California taking on issues that allows them to avoid bigger issues.
If they want to regulate something how about jet engines.

The day after 911 the air was so clear over and around Sacramento because of the no fly rule.
There is usually a cloud of smoke hovering around the city that just happened to disapear when the airlines were shut down, I don't think so.

If you don't vote shame on you.

Wonder how much pollution is produced in the manufacture of cats for weedeaters compared to the polution they control?

Briggs & Stratton officials have said that redesigning their engines to comply with tougher regulations would be so costly they might have to move production overseas. The company employs more than 1,000 workers in Missouri.

I would say we have about 10 years left with the engines we have today at the speed the Gov. moves.

True, but even now, people are having to search for good two needle carbs for their motors to make them run properly thanks mostly to California.

Oh man, I just now almost got up on a huge soap box about all this... I could write pages on how wrong it all is, but why bother. Not enough people care, or know enough, to put a stop to the ridiculous machinations of the government. Why should I try?? Better to just hoard some good parts, and hope my kids make out ok somehow in the new world being created for us by the USA.

People have the government they deserve and want. If they didn't they would get rid of it through their vote. Even the Soviet block fell when they had had enough. And Marcos and his wonderful government

I just got done taking a course on catalytic converters (im a mechanic) and the exhaust coming out of a new model year (2006) vehicle is actually cleaner than the air going in. I believe in protecting the environment and all but you guys are right about going too far. I know that i dont want to have to come home and have more of my work hanging off of my dynaflight decathlon.
