Default afp transmiter

dion I juct bought the afp with interface from you and the connecting plug for the transmitter seems to have some bad wiring or something. when I try to calibrate it. the bars are all over the place then wiggle the plug and they change again. sometimes I can get it to calibrate. but then move the transmitter around and it goes off again. can I sent it back and get a replacement. thanks, daren

sure you can send it back but maybe you should try it on another computer.

also have you installed the latest AFP patch?

you would be sending it back to Ikarus direct when you are ready to speed the replacement process up.

Make sure your tx is set for ppm NOT pcm.

Just a thought, because I had similar problems on mine.

Good point on the modulation. I wouldn't had thought that would make a difference on the trainer port until we tried hooking up a trainer box at the field recently for a student. Even though the trainer tx was off, it would not work the aircraft. We finally switched his tx to an unused model and regular PPM modulation and it worked fine. I guess AFP also needs PPM. Also try another tx first before sending back the cable. Could be the trainer port on your tx.

The odds of that cable being defective are almost 0%.

The best thing to do.

Run the UNINSTALL. Then after you uninstall it delete the IPACS directory from PROGRAM FILES.

Install Disc 1, Expansion Pack and the Patch in that order.

Believe it or not this has worked plenty of times.
