Jeremy is proofing out the version two parts now and once we are satisfied everything fits together well we will begin production. For those who have not followed the Boxxer evolution, Jeremy Chinn (designer) has made some great improvements on the design and thus the version two Boxxer. We want to be sure everything is perfect before production so that is why the wait. We decided not to make another run of the version one design as everyone would rather wait for the version two. We still expect production in Dec.

Perfect timing. All the cut parts have been ordered as of a week ago and turnaround is usually two weeks. The other material has been ordered as well. So my original prediction to have these ready for shipment the week before Christmas still holds. So clear off them building tables for the Christmas Holiday!

Tukkus, there are three primary changes I made to the design, a couple based on customer feedback, and a couple I just wanted to do....
The first change was to add a small ply doubler to the fuse where the landing gear mounts. While I never broke a gear mount on any of the 4 version-1 protos I built, several customers did. The new design is stronger. While I was redesigning the doublers, I redid the engine mount. The previous mount was solid 3/8" ply with lightening holes. The new mount only has ply where it needs it for strength, and the rest is balsa. That design change alone cut 1.75 ozs from the weight of the finished bird.
The next change I made was to redesign the alignment of the wings. I changed the stagger significantly to improve inverted harrier performance. The wing saddle and interplane struts were redesigned to make this happen.
The final change was to try building the bird with the aileron servos in the top wing. This moved the vertical CG higher on the airframe, and improved the inverted harrier performance a little more yet. The new kit can be built with the aileron servos in either the top or bottom wing.
So the new kit weighs a couple ounces less, and has better inverted harrier performance.

Wessco, The story has not changed since Thanksgiving. The parts have been ordered the same day Jeremy gave his thumbs up on the final version. The supplier tells me they will be delivered next week. With the holidays, expect kits to be shipped the week after Christmas. If by chance the parts come in early enough next week, they will get shipped maybe next Friday but no way they will be delivered before Christmas now. Shipping right now is jam packed due to holidays.

Boxxers are shipping! You should be able to place an order through the website as normal. We activated that a couple weeks before Christmas.
P.S. After seeing the changes Jeremy Chinn made on some of the parts in person I have to say this is one sweet kit! The CNC cut parts are flawless!
