Edge, measure the wing and aileron at the root. The cg is between 25% to 33% of the total measurement from the leading edge of the wing. Trim the plane for hands off flying. Flip the plane inverted and if you have to ad down elevator to fly level your nose heavy. If the planes does out loops (flys up needing up elevator) your tail heavy. If your real tail heavy you will need to goose the throttle while approch to land because the plane will want to fall out of the sky tail first. This plane should fly both nose and tail heavy with out much trouble. have fun!

Edge, Your wing is 17 1/2 Wide Your cg starting point should be 4 3/8" to 5 3/8" 4 13/16" is dead center. From the leading edge of the wing. I'm betting it would fly great at 6" too.

Fill your hollow spaces with some ply and get a good set of Tetherite from OMP.

Wings should be flush to the fuselage. A little gap is not going to hurt anything as long as your wings are bolted on securely.

My guess is a 16-4 is too much prop but maybe not. I don't have that much experience with the Saito. I know the prop will depend on how much nitro you are running. If you run higher nitro you can run the bigger prop.

Edge the Saito 100 was designed for a prop from 14X8 to 15X6. I've been running an APC 16X4W for 7 or 8 years on 15% nitro. A 15X6 MAS works real well and costs less and takes several soft ground strikes before they break.

Bingo, there ya go! Thanks Victor! I'm going to have to start using the 16-4W myself.........as soon as I figure out how to adjust the valves.

Yeah, with decent nitro, a 16x4W is the foshizzle. The 15x6 Xoar is also a winner.

How about 20% nitro? is that enough to run the 16-4W?

Mike, I always set the valves to the minimum. You want them as tight as the feeler gauge will let you. You do not want contact when they are supposed to be seperated, just tight.

It takes like 10 minutes.

Thanks Frank, I'll have to do that during my winter maintenance. The Saito was pumping out a lot of wasted fuel through the carb throat down at nashville and Fuelman and I played with the tuning quite a bit. had it running pretty good but still spitting out a lot of fuel all over teh plane! Brian suggested the valves needed adjustment as I was probably getting a lot of blowback through the carb. Makes sense.
