can someone tell me if omp has this plane in a combo deal,if not then i will buy the plane and get a engine for it.what would you guys reccomend for a engine and prop for this plane?plan on ordering one in a month or so
Yes, we offer all our kits and ARFs with combos even if it is not listed on the webpage. We have several engine choices including YS and OS. Please give John a call and tell him I sent you to ask for a combo price. The new OS 75AX is a great choice or you could step all teh way up to a 91FX or even the YS 110 although that is UBER power.

what hardware does the omp 56"razor yak come with?like furl tank,push rods etc.

The RY comes with a complete hw pack typical of most chinese profiles. The tank is great to use, landing gear and wheels are pretty good. COntrol linkages are ok but there are dozens or more options for linkage setups and seems everyone has their opinions and preferences. Personally I like to use ball links on most models 90 size and up but that is probably overkill on a profile! Clevises and Z-bends are more than adequate. If you are buying a new engine the OS 91 is actually the same size and weight as the new 75AX so I'd go for the 91FX 2-stroke. I'm not a 4-s expert but I'd guess any of the name brand .91-1.25 4-s engines would be great power. Maybe a Saito 100 would be a great choice.
Mike, I just received my RY today and compared to my other profile (katana) The surfaces are huge from what I saw. This ones going to be a MONSTER!! Do you know what 4 stroke was used on the RY in the video from your site by chance? I've been using 2 strokes on my profiles for a while now but I'd like to go back to the Saito 100 on this one I think. Weighs less than my OS .91 2 stroke.
What prop do you use John? I like the sound and torque of the Saito. I've used them in the past. I've never tried any other 4 strokes. I'm looking foward to the RY and Saito combo.
The Saito 100 would be a great choice. I'd start with a 15-4W APC as I think that was the best prop I liked when I ran a Saito 100. I used Cooper 20% fuel. If you run 30% fuel you might be able to go 15-6. I like the faster spool up on throttle so the lower pitch works for me.

Thanks Mike. I'm going with the Saito 100 for sure. I've been using the Xoar props and really like them so I'll probably do the same with the Saito. I have'nt started on it yet. I'm going to Las Vegas in 3 days so I'll start on it when I return. If I win big I'll have a large order to place when I get back with you. ORIGINAL: AFSalmon

I gave in to the seduction and decided to keep the display RY ARF for myself and started building it for myself yesterday. Mounted one of my trusty OS .91FX on the nose, mounted a standard servo for the throttle directly behind the motor on the motor mounts. Worked our VERY sweet. Have all the surfaces hinged and stab installed. So far assembly is typical profile ARF and straight forward with no issues. Pictures coming later

just got a razor yak today and wow its nice,but whats with the carbon fiber control horns?are they safe to use or not.something with such huge controll surfaces you would think it would have a better control rod and horn,how do you even use these things anyway?
If they are installed correctly per the instructions they will be more than adequate. You will tear out the wood before you break any of the control horns. Sounds like from your other posts you already have 13 flights.

well was out flying for a bit after work with the razor yak,heard a strange noise ao i landed to discover the wing came loose,the nylon wing nut will not tighten the wing all the way,seems like its stripped,anyone else have this issue?if so how did you fix the problem

Just started flying my new Razor-Yak this week. Equipped with OS-91, digital Hitec servos, Futaba 2.4 Ghz radio. Wow! It really flies well. I am doing 3-D stuff that other my planes never could. I started flying with CG at 8", first flights with battery up near engine. Moved battery back into wing today and CG now at 8.5". Now I am kicking myself for not getting this one done sooner. It does harriers in low rates. waterfall loops need high rates for elevator. I'm still learning this 3-D stuff, but this slab can do any of the tricks, it is just pilot limited, for now.

That's awesome Doutcalt. Glad you like the RY! I've also got the .91FX on mine but have not finished the plane yet. Been playing with the giant gassers recently. Folks say that 8.5" is the sweet spot on cg though on the RY. Keep at it!
