Hello again. I have the GWS formosa and after reading some of the threads on this post I have to ask some questions on this specific plane. Others seam to have trouble with their electrics on initial flights and such. Does anyone here have any info on the Formosa and its flight characteristics? Will this plane fly from a stock configuration? Will it take off from the ground or do I need to toss it? Any info will help as I am almost ready to fly it and would hate to destroy the poor thing before it can fly. Thanks again.

I have flown one with a hacker B20 on lithium cells.
Not sure of the exact setup that he had, but it had plenty of power probably more than it really needed.
It flew ok but did have some odd tendencies at different speeds. Could have been due to some warpage or surface setup.
Takeoff's and landing would need to be on a smooth surface.
From what I've seen it will fly on the stock setup, but that's about it.

Flys quite well box stock. I have flown mine with the stock 350 using the GWS 9.6V730 mAh batterys and also with 9.6V 800mHa Wattage Batterys. Both are Ni-MH. Flight times were in the range of 6 to 8 minutes. The Plane is smooth at both high and very low speeds. I am now flying with an Astro 10/10 turn motor and Li-Po 3s 1200's. So I can say it flys very smooth with any of the 3 setups. Hope that this will be helpful.By the way the take off with the 350 is quite short, I would guess about 15 to 20 feet off asphalt and I land on grass were it is brought in very slow and still tends to tip over. No damage in I can't remember how many flights. You will enjoy it. Gud Flying....Dick-Electric

Thanks for the info. This brings another question. My battery is a 7.2v 600mAh NiCad. What will this do to the power of the 350c and the duration of flight? Is there a formula for figuring this out?
