I am in the process of covering my switchback from Mountain Models. The kit includes a light clear film, but I am wondering about using Econocote instead. I plan to fly it with the recommended GWS 300 geared motor. Has anyone found that that Econocote is too heavy?
Thanks in advance,

Many SB flyers use SoLite (Solarfilm Lite). I believe Nelson film is the same stuff. It is a great product. You can get it from Doug at MM. It's a little tricky to separate and then keep separated from itself, but once laid on the framework, it's a joy to work with. It's about as light as you can get and have color. Here's mine (if I did it right!) Good luck, Dzl

I've covered all three of mine in Solarfilm which is a much heavier covering than the supplied but it does a good job of holding the bits together when the inevitable happens

Thanks for the help. I covered the wings with the supplied film and the control surfaces with Econocote. It has been a lot of work, but I am nearly done. I should be able to take it for a maiden flight this weekend, if it doesn't snow.
