I was wondering how easy is the ifo? Is the mini ifo beter than the ifo mk-3?How big of a room do you need to fly them in. I'm starting to get into slow flyers and park flyers, Is the ifo prety cheap to buy and get flying because i am on a $120.00 budjet.
How slow does it fly?(mph) I am a expereenced flyer.Any info would be helpful and i would greatly appreciate it.

Bryan:
I built an 85% size from the MKIII kit where the mini is 75%. These are flown with the standard GWS Lite-Stick power system.
I've found them to be more agile during our indoor season than
the heavier 280 powered std. MKIII. You won't be sorry if you get
one. With the carbon rod, they are bullet proof if you cover with
1/2 oz. kite fabric.

The Pico Lite-Stick motor on the mini and 280 on the std.
The weight and wing area makes these great flyers. If you know
someone with either size plans (scale down the std. MKIII) you can go to a kite store and get the 3/32 and 1/16" carbon rod and
Build the frame for $10.00 The Pico motor with gear is only $17.

Randy,
Do you think i can just take a tube and bend it around and conect the two ends to 30" peice of balsa wood or bass wood?then cover it with seranwrap? Then buy some cirus cs-10 servos, receiver, speed control, and gws motor and baterie, and make one that way?do you think that would work?Or could i use a 380 motor, or would that be to big?I dont know anyone with a ifo. I actualy dont realy fly with anyone but my dad and my friend Ronyand myuncle at my house becouse i have 5 acers and a good cement road that no one uses.I take my park flyers and just walk out my front door and throw it. Sometimes i go to edwards or b-slab.

I scratch built a 24" span mini. I use a GWS motor 2amp speed controler and 2 hitec 55 servos. I am able to hove it at no mph. I fly it in my back yard when the wind is mild and a 20x40 room in my basement when it is windy. I built mine out of carbon fiber rod I got from a local kite company. I covered it with a mylar emergency blanket. I use pull pull on the elevons. It is a blast to fly. I made one out of bambo that I shaved down covered it with plastic wrap but it was to heavy. The carbon fiber rod is the only way to go.

The mini ifo is the best option to go for - start flying in a large hall or field first and once u can do rolling circles with it e.t.c go indoors
when u can fly well - any aerobatic manuver is possible in a badmington court

I have built 4. A Mini, a T-IFO, a GWS 300C-C powered version and a mini sized Trainer version. They have all flown great except the 300C-C overpowered monster which would go into a power tuck under full power ina dive situation. The mini is a real blast to fly and my favorite to impress spectators is to ROG into inverted and quickly recover with an outside loop. That always get's wow's from the youngun's!

Carbon fiber rods $20.00, Hitec micro srevos $50.00, GWS motor $20.00, GWS receiver $29.00, Speed controler $35.00. If you have some of this stuff on hand you could stay under budget.
