Tell us about you goals. You have given no reasons why you are interested in these two particluar plans.

The Spectra is a traditional built up balsa e-glider with a 2M wing span. It is not a parkflyer yet you posted this in the parkflyer forum. This plane is made for thermal duration soaring.

The Ventura is a glider like design, but it is smaller and a bit faster. This one can be flown more as a parkflyer, though you can do some thermal soaring with it.

Since you seem to be looking for an electric plane with glider like character, here are a couple I like better than the ones you list.

Easy Star - RTF - $180
Super tough foam. Comes with 72 mhz radio in the US.
Good parkflyer and a good glider
Radio in RTF package can be used to fly other planes

Easy Star - ARF - Add you own radio gear

Ascent - this is a park glider ARF
It can be flown as a parkflyer or a glider

If you are not familiar with soaring, it is a lot of fun. Flights can be as
short as parkflyer flights, or can last for hours, if you find lift.

This article may be helpful in understanding lift and the fun that e-gliders
offer to the electric flyer.

OK, I would not recommend either of these planes for windy day flying. The ventura is pretty light and the Spectra is too under powered. Once you have it up there the Spectra would do fine.

Windy day thermal glider flying?

Or windy day slope flying? Very different!

Or windy day parkflyer flying?

What other experience do you have? What have you mastered so far. Tell me about your flying in the wind. THEN I can make recommendations.

RTF only? ARF? Kit? Do you have a radio?

Talk man! Tell!
