Hangar 9 Mini Funtana poor performance
I purchased a Mini Funtana with Park 400 Brushless (4200Kv). Using a 3 cell 1800 Mah Lipo.
Performance of the Funtana is disappointing -- it flies, but can't hover, engine seems to labor when attempting climbs, hover, etc. Using Eflite 12x6 and 11x4.7 props - both disappointing.
Is this common? Would the Eflite Outrunner 400 be a better choice?
Thanks

RE: Hangar 9 Mini Funtana poor performance
Tom,
What gear ratio are you using? The Park 400 with a 3 cell 1800 battery should be able to use about 200 watts. That should get you 1/2 throttle hovering and unlimited vertical. Try a 4.4:1 ratio with the 11 x4.75 prop. That will get you 33.6 oz thrust with 32.6 mph pitch speed @ 17.4 amps. That set up sounds about perfect to me.
