Default aerobird problem

I have been flying my aerobird for about 2 months and last time out I had an issue with it banking hard to the right. I have never had this problem before and it was fine the first flight. I landed it (soft) and threw in a new battery. After take off, it just banked hard right and crashed. I checked the wings and tail for problems and everything looked/looks to be in order. I launched again, by hand this time, and it did the same thing. However, when I turned the motor off it seemed to go straighter before it crashed. Any suggestions/ideas of what is the problem and how I can fix it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Sounds like the VTail is giving under load
Have you made the V Tail mod where you put a piece of fishing line between the tail to prevent it from flexing out of place under torque, if not I suggest you look into how to do this and give it a try
Most likely where the problem is especialy if it straightens out when you throttle down
Good luck and good flyin

Have a look at this thread:

It covers just about all the possible problems and shows the modifications that are required.......

Thanks for the info, I have done most of the other mods but did not do this one yet....probably should have. I was completely baffled as to what was happening. Do you recommend getting a new tail and doing the mod or should it be ok to just use this one?

Thanks!

If tail looks OK I would just use it, the flex only happens under load and flexes back when load is relieved, Just make sure to always ck tail adj before flying and remember rubber bands will weaken, keep them tight for best responce. I am fixing to buy a ABX and will be making all these mods on it, buying it from a freind. He just bought it and I have been trying to teach him to fly but it is just too much bird for him to learn on
Good luck and Good flying
