I am wanting to buy a few for some kids to use at a Birthday party, the kids are all about 14, anyone know of anything better in the $30 range for a simple RTF?

i would not recommend buying this plane if you want them to actually get into rc airplanes.this planes a glider and it definately doesnt fly 100 m high or 20 kms an hour. but if its just for the day, they'll have a blast trying to control them. theyre gliders and will perform well with no stall charecteristics and they should be pretty stable.

Yea its just for the day to let them have some dog fights or whatever in the air. Huge field.
Here is another option...let me know if this is a better plane.

Either one is going to run around $35 each or so.

how many channels is it? if its three or up you better hope its durable because they'll DEFINATELY crash the planes. ibthink its much to advanced for beginner pilots because its low wing, its pretty fast for such a little thing and it has no self correcting abilities. to sum it all up , it may look like a plane that they'll have fun with but its more likeli to be the planes that will ruin there fun. keep in minde that im saying this based on if it three channel or up. the other planes definately a better choice.

o, well in that case its practically the same as the other plane but it looks better. i think its much more realistic and a better choice. sorry for all the mixed answeres but i stand by this one.

definately. i think your kids will even be more exited to know that it has an actual jet in it. there is only one thing im not sure of. imnot sure that it will have a sufficient amount of powere to fly well.

Take a look at this thread on the indoor flight page. the Aeroace by Airhogs

I got a couple for my son and his friend. One you cycle the battery a couple of times this thing really flies. Avoid any wind but man is it a lot of fun.

The AeroAce is the way to go. Best beginner plane in the $30 range, its virtually indestructable, is a ton of fun for any age and experience, and has a lipo battery that will get you more than 10 minutes of flight per charge. There are lots of threads here, on RCGroups, on ********* and on Radio Control Zone that talk about how good this little plane is. You won't regret buying it. The only regret you may have is if you don't buy one for yourself.

Just went to Target and picked them up, opened one for ME and played with it a bit. Definately going to have fun with this plane. It wont fly outside at all in a mild wind, thats the only negative thing i can see. Its much smaller than i though but i think they will love them. Wish they had more than 3 frequencies!!
