Check out htis new plane at http://www.mountainmodels.com/ . I have been thinking about the Urban Flyer and now I'm not sure.

I have heard that the Urban Flyer is an excellent plane and Doug at Mountain Models is noted for his great kits. With regards to the switchback, this aircraft will not be out for a while as it is only now up for beta testing. Initial reports indicate a really great model will be available. Another plane to check out is the Radical Edge from www.radicalrc.com

Beta testing is where a product is released in preproduction form to a select few people for testing. Unsually with models these people are expirienced individuals that help the designer write the construction manual and work out any design flaws.

The Radical RC Edge flies awesome, I've seen the videos. It truely flies well. It seems like it will hover. There is a pic on his website of it hovering right over a lake.

Hi everyone. I just learned about this forum. I am the designer of the Switchback. I has been released but I haven't updated the website yet. I wanted to make sure that I had sufficient quantities of kits on the shelf before changing the site.
There are two versions of the Switchback with the only difference being the wing. The Sport was designed for more casual fun flying but will still loop, roll, and fly inverted. The 3D wing is designed for - you guessed it - 3D flying. With the right battery the plane will hover.
