Hi!
I got my gws E-starter a while ago (a very good plane) and want to upgrade. The E-starter was my first. I dont know what to get![sm=confused.gif] Can you help me? Here are my specs: it needs to be a park flyer, fairly small, four-channel, Under $100 (i know this is hard to come by!), an arf, and a plane i will be happy with for a while (a little disappointed by the E-starter). And I'm ok with a plane that isnt that best second plane (I have g3 flight sim.)
Can you help me?
Thank you for your help![sm=biggrin.gif]

i put a hacker A30-28S outrunner in mine, a phoenix 45 controller, and a TP 1320 3 cell lipo. now its a 50mph rocket that will go any direction that i point it, even straight up if i want. its like having a whole new plane without building another one. just a thought, you will feel like you have a new plane if you do this, just a thought.

ps, northeast sailplane company has great deals on the hacker/phoenix combos, its were i got mine, dont get the hacker controller though, get the castle creations.

DO IT! It's gonna cost you abou $150-ish for the setup but you won't regret the performance. Then again, you can also get less expensive briushless motors from Hobby-Lobby and instead of using a 40A controller, you can use a 25A controller. Your estarter weighs about 18oz, which is slightly over a pound. If you put in an 11v lipo, you will still be over 200W/lb at full power. Just don't rip the wings off. [X(]

yea, dolanosa's price estimate is about right, or maybe just 20 or 30 bucks more to go with the good phoenix controller, and thunder power lipo, and yes, the 25 amp controller is enough, i just like to go way over on the controller since the all up weight will be almost the same and you get less internal resistance giving longer flights and longer lasting parts.
also good point about the wings, i forgot to mention that i did reinforce the wings on mine with clear packing tape, a few strips on the top, and a few strips on the bottom, full length of the wing, it makes a big diff, when you see what this plane does with the upgrade youll see why its a must the strengthen the wing, i think without it the tape, the wing would break. other than that the rest of the structure seems to be holding up just fine.
i did also have to relocate the battery about 3 inches farther back to get the CG right, i just cut a new spot for it, then glued a couple pieces of balsa cross ways over the hole that i made to make up for the support foam that i cut away, then added a loop of velcro to go around the balsa and battery at the same time, to hold the battery in place.
if you decide to do these upgrades, let me know and i will get pics of exactly how to do the mods, since i already have it figured out.

this is the hacker A30-28S outrunner and phoenix 35 combo deal for $129.99, this is the one i got, except i asked them to make it a phoenix 45 instead, they did that for me and charged me $10 more for the diff. although the phoenix 35 will be fine too, again i like to go way over on controllers.

e-flite celectra for 1-3 cell lipos is the one i use, it works great and you only push one button to charge, it costs about $45, i think, depending on were you get it.
also i will get those pics for you.
